The geological and orographic variety and complexity of the Province of Mantova, has created an interesting range of products and variety in Mantuan wine production, unique even in the national panorama.
The wines produced in the territory, made from local grapes, benefit from diverse geological conditions and varied microclimates that characterize the various areas of production. As a result, local wine production expresses itself through a wide range of whites, rosés and reds; from Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Grigio, Sauvignon, the list of products also includes prestigious Spumante (Champagne) and sweet after dinner Passito as well as Mantuan Lambrusco.
The wealth of the Mantuan Wine Production is expressed in the variety of the DOP and IGP certified denominations, recognized by the MIPAAF and the European Union, protected and guaranteed by the Consorzio Vini Mantovani. The denominations are then articulated in the various wines that can be found in the Mantuan territory and make these products perfect for an infinite number of food/wine pairings.
